Colins Christmas Ham Glaze

Colins Christmas Ham Glaze

You will not be disappointed!  This is my very own Ham Glaze recipe that has been used in my family for years gone by…
It really is quite easy to make, leaving you with a wonderful Christmas table centre piece that has a lovely caramelised
Honey & Orange flavour with a twist and  packed with moisture!

Colins-Glaze-Glazing
Colin basting the prepared Ham.  Be mindful to baste very generously as the excess will become your basting glaze.

COLINS ORANGE & HONEY HAM GLAZE…

1 cup of Orange Juice
½ cup Dry Sherry
2 cups Brown Sugar
4 tablespoons Dijion Mustard
2 tablespoons Honey
Cloves
* this recipe is for a full 9kg Ham – Halve the recipe for a leg or chump end.

Ask your myself or one of my freindly staff to prepare and score your Ham
Preheat oven to 180˚ and cover tray with baking paper
Cover the Ham Hock with aluminium foil to prevent it from burning.
Combine the first 5 ingredients in a bowl and stir to combine

With a basting brush, brush over the Glaze.
Be very very generous with the Glaze as the excess that pools in the bottom of the pan will thicken and you will be using this to baste your Ham during cooking – to give you an amazing flavour.  You can add more glaze to pan as needed.

Decorate your Ham with cloves – we used 12 over the whole ham, but you uses as little or as many as referred.

Basting every 10-15 minutes with the glaze from the pan.

Cook for a total of 40 minutes for a half ham & 1 hour 10 minutes for a full ham.

Carve and Serve…   ENJOY!

Would love to know what you and your families tastebuds thought of my Ham Glaze…
